My daughter Vivian has been home from school sick almost all week, and I’ve been looking after her. Usually she’s pretty specific about what foods she wants when she’s sick, but this time has been a bit different. All she’s wanted really are oranges.
So, when I sat down today for my daily draw, it was an easy choice of subject matter.
Unlike yesterday’s disaster, I was pretty happy with how this one turned out.
Weeks like this can tend to feel like a bit of a loss. While I’ve certainly lost a little “me time,” hanging out with Vivi, watching Home Alone, playing Mousetrap, and eating oranges has more than made up for it.
