My buddy Alex (who also supplied me with my wok) sent me a surprise shitake mushroom log. Aside from never thinking I would ever write “surprise mushroom log” in a sentence, I was surprised by how easy and tasty homegrown mushrooms are. These shitakes grew like crazy and tasted great. I’m hoping to get a second crop soon. Thanks Alex and thanks Merryhill Mushrooms!

    Those turned out great, and the dish looks delicious! Give it a week or two, then if it hasn’t started round 2 give it a soak in water for a few hours and you should get a second, though probably smaller, batch of mushrooms. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
