A year in my favorite shoes: The Merrell Moab Speed GTX

Two pairs of Merrell Moab GTX shoes on a table.

Last year for my birthday I received a pair of these Merrell shoes as a gift. Fast forward a year and they have easily become my most worn and most beloved pair of shoes ever. This year for my birthday I received a new pair and I finally retired the first. I feel it’s only right to commemorate my trusty companions as they make their way to the recycle bin.

I easily put more than a thousand miles on last year’s pair of Merrells, wearing them nearly every day on school walks, dog walks, hill walks, going to work, working in the garden, you name it. They are lightweight enough for playing sports with the kids, sturdy enough for rough terrain, and maybe most importantly for Scotland, waterproof!

I’ve literally worn down the knobby treads completely and nearly worn through the soles this last year, and they still kept going right until the end.

Super impressed with these shoes. They are hands down my favorite item I’ve bought/received in the last year. My new pair has their work cut out for them.
