One of my goals for May was to switch up my typical running flow and run shorter distances more frequently. I ended up running 5 miles a day for a total of 150 miles for the month, and my daughter was with me for the last one tonight.

150 miles in 31 days felt like a lot. I found that I actually prefer (surprise!) running a bit less, but not because of the distance.
On one hand, I really liked the set routine, doing more or less the same route, and noticing the trees and trail change in small ways each day.
On the other hand, I missed my days of strength training, and I missed longer run days, and I really missed my peloton rides. It got to be a bit of a grind, to be honest.
It was worth trying, just to see how it feels to change routines, but man, next month I’m looking forward to scaling back.
