New plantings

My project today (amidst a soccer game and the Minecraft movie) was planting this ‘Miss Kim Korean Lilac‘. It was not difficult to do but still required a solid hour or more and yet, like all gardening, the effort expended was vastly outweighed by the satisfaction received.

I did this simple little planting in the morning and the satisfaction carried on for the rest of the day.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.

I think this lilac is more of a bush than a tree, but still, it feels so good to move dirt around and plant new things. Highly therapeutic.
