I haven’t seen Oppenheimer yet, so maybe it’s a bit premature, but Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is my favorite film of the year.
It just ticks so many boxes: the characters are well-developed, the story is multi-layered and exciting, and the animation style is, well, like nothing that has ever been done in movies before. The first film revolutionalized what is expected from animated moves, and the sequel takes it to another level.

As someone who dabbles in drawing, I can’t believe how something like it was created by (thousands of) artists by hand. I’ve been going through behind-the-scenes videos for the past month in wonder at the process and vision that it took to create.
In a similar vein, Star Wars: Visions is my favorite Star Wars series since Andor for the same reasons that Spider-Verse is my favorite movie: the creativity and animation style is off the charts.
Whether you are young or old, you owe it to yourself to watch both!
