We spent last night in our house. If you have been following our house renovation project over this past year, you’ll know just how big of a deal this is.
We haven’t yet moved officially, and it was a little like camping, but still, we weren’t at our in-law’s place for the first time in nearly seven months. The stove isn’t working yet, we can’t take a shower yet, and there is a gaping hole in the front side of our roof, but we have enough finished that we could all sleep together on some mattresses on the floor and feel like we’re home.
In short, it was probably the best I’ve ever felt on a camping trip.
Shortly after we arrived for the night, and in the midst of the chaos, we all celebrated and sat at the kitchen counter for a moment.
We raised our glass and suddenly our daughter smiled and said proudly “We are in!”
Yes, camping or not, we’re in.
Finally.
