I’m at the deadline for August, so I’m gonna make this one brief. Lots of good tunes this past month, too little time. I’m ready for fall for sure!
Open Mike Eagle – DOOMED!
I got into Open Mike Eagle a little later than some, but I’m all in at this point and definitely on this one.
Dinner Party – Whatchu Bringing?
The SOUND on this album (and all Dinner Party albums) is just incredible.
Marcin – Live Sessions
Crazy guitar instrumentals. Great for work. Great for cooking. Great soundtrack for doing pretty much anything.
Obscured by Clouds – Suddenly, Form
Ambient and jazzy, and also hard to find a lot of info on but it’s so good. Comment from a user on Album of the year reads “Super dope. Heavy STS9 vibes, but more universal and less electronic. Also strong Darkside vibes and def recommend to any fans of these bands or the crosssections of electronica/jazz/jamband, ie trance fusion. Lots of great tunes here and hard to choose just one or a few to rec“. 👍🏼
Antony Szmierek – Decoding Birdsong
Where did this come from!? Similar vibe to The Streets. Sign me up.
