“Exercising remains one of the few things in life that you are always happy afterward that you did.”
Alex Toussaint, Activate Your Greatness
Today I reached a little milestone: 250 rides and 60 weeks straight of using our Peloton indoor bike.

I don’t love doing cardio indoors, but I do love the experience Peloton provides. It’s so much fun. I can even do it with a hurt knee (slowly).
My favorite instructor is Alex Toussaint, and this week, I finished reading his book, Activate Your Greatness.
Just like in his classes, he has a special knack for telling compelling stories that motivate and inspire.
In particular, I like how he sets up his days in terms of priorities first, not specific to-dos:
“I look at it through the prism of sports. I view each of the fiftytwo weeks of a year as a “season,” and each individual day as a “game” played against a different opponent. I am the coach of my team, and for every one of those “games,” I set up a different starting lineup of priorities so that I have the best chance to win the day.
This starting lineup is composed of things or people, basically my priorities for that day. For instance, on one day, my starting five might be: (1) my overall mental and physical health, (2) my family, (3) my work and business, (4) my discipline and focus, and (5) my overall peace.”
Having a starting line-up of priorities that can change each day depending on your needs seems like a smart way to balance work and fun, the serious and the playful. Thanks AT!
