Vivian and I had a daddy-daughter date last Saturday, part of a long-standing tradition that I hope never dies.

We took the bus into Glasgow…

We went to the movies (Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken, perfect for this girl who can’t wait to be a teenager)…

We went book shopping, well more like graphic novel and manga hunting. Vivian also LOVES manga suddenly (I don’t know this world well, but Forbidden Planet seemed to have a decent collection)…

We had Japanese noodles and bubble tea for lunch (Yippon is super)…

We did more shopping and went for donuts to top it off (Tantrum is excellent)…

I write a lot about ways to be productive, prioritize time, and maintain a healthy mindset, but all of it can seem like silly mental gymnastics compared to the actual experience of hanging out with the people you love and care for.

Simple things matter most.
