What I learned last week (#152): another round

A weekly selection of what I was reading, drawing, writing, and doing.

I’m mad that Dune is $25 to rent and $30 to buy on Apple TV at the moment, so looking at other films to watch and this best of 2021 list on Marginal Revolution caught my eye. Another Round seems good, Old sounds kinda crazy, and Nine Days seems interesting.

I wish I had a smart and witty list of 52 things I learned last year that is a good as the one from Tom Whitwell. Almost every item on there makes me go “what, really!?”

I did manage to get another list of my favorite music of November and now I guess I need to publish my favorite music of the year. I’ll do it soon. Vote for your faves on the KEXP countdown in the meantime.

Some work thoughts for your week: First, use every second of your 1:1 time with your boss (I know I don’t do this enough) and second, here are five simple steps to have better meetings.

Something I had been thinking about a lot, the shadow career and whether I’m in one, finally found its way out.

The house renovation project continued this week with a visit to a lighting shop, which didn’t generate anything interesting other than my wondering how much their electricity bills are. I did, however, share some visuals for our modest project starting in less than a month.

Finally, my daughter and I found our themes for 2021 and did some word art to commemorate the occasion.

This was abandoned on the street, so sad

Last but not least, check out what I’m up to now.
