The kids and I just finished watching The Ninth Jedi. It was fantastic. The best Star Wars thing I’ve watched since Andor.
If you aren’t familiar, The Ninth Jedi is an animated anime series from a Japanese production studio. Originally a single episode as part of the (also fantastic) Visions series, they spun this off into a full season.
It’s got that goofy and charming anime aesthetic and is chock-full of great animation, effects, and weird characters. The best part, though, is the story it tells. I won’t spoil anything, but it’s set long after the movies happened, and it includes everything you would expect and hope for from a Star Wars epic.
