Ok this one is definitely last-minute, so I’ll keep it brief. September had some great music in it, and I’m getting in my monthly list right before we turn over to a new one. Here is my favorite music from September 2025.
CARRTOONS – Space Cadet
This guy is a super funky producer, and I’ve just discovered him this year. I love the vibe on this album.
Saba & No ID – The Private Collection of Saba and No ID
This dropped earlier this year, and it didn’t grab me. After hearing a few tracks on KEXP recently, I revisited it, and I definitely got grabbed.
Benny Sings – Beat Tape III
Benny Sings just never misses. I could listen to this all day (just like the other beat tapes). Don’t let the title fool you either; this plays like a proper album.
El Michels Affair – 24 Hr Sports
Just like CARRTOONS above, a collection of jams that sounds like it’s coming from your band’s favorite band. Can’t be beat.
Polyrhythmics – Life from Below
A master class of funky, soulful, mostly instrumental tunes. Representing Seattle too!
Other albums that I’ve been jamming to:
- Cut Copy – Moments
- Ami Taf Ra – The Prophet and The Madman
- Venna – MALIK
- Jamie Leeming – Sequent
- Yoni Mayraz – Dogs Bark Babies Cry
- Che Noir – No Validation
Remember to support the artists you love, and if you want to peruse some of the previous new music posts from this year, do it!
