There will be light

I was actually in favor of not getting a tree this year (we’ll be traveling for the holidays), but my wife and kids looked at me like I was crazy, and, as a result, I ended up going kind of crazy in the other direction. We have a tree now, and lights too! Lots of lights.

Sure we have more lights than what we had in Scotland, but it doesn’t really look crazy, at least in relation to most of my neighbors. There is still LOTS of room for lighted snowmen, Santa shouting ho ho ho, and an animatronic Snoopy or two. My neighbor actually one-upped me and got permanent lights installed on their house by one of those light installer services. At first, I thought that was a bit much, but now I think that’s smart.

Considering we didn’t move over with any decorations, I’m happy with the start we have. Now we just need some snow!
