For the gaming nerds only: I finally unlocked the Khvostov exotic auto rifle and am unreasonably excited about it.
First, some quick background. Against maybe my better judgment, I’ve been slowly getting sucked back into Destiny 2, which is hopelessly confusing and yet still a lot of fun to play, mainly with friends, but also increasingly for some of the solo stuff too. Anyway, one of the best things about the game is unlocking new weapons and gear, particularly the really hard-to-get stuff.
While this exotic item isn’t particularly hard to get, the Khvostov does require a lot of stamina and/or a slightly sadistic tendency (you have to collect 32 different items scattered in various locations/missions and dropped by certain enemies that randomly appear, etc). Yes, you can find everything you need online, but can you stomach it all? I don’t know why I’m proud that I got it, but I am.
I’ll enjoy this for a little while until I inevitably will need to find something new to chase, like the Forerunner. Or maybe I should take a Destiny detox?
The feeling is great, but like everything in gaming and life at large, it’s fleeting.
