The GoPro is my new favorite toy

I received a GoPro as a Christmas gift, and it’s quickly become my favorite new toy. This past week, I’ve been experimenting with it on my runs and walks with our dog, Rubee, and have compiled some scintillating footage that is probably only interesting to me (unless you have a fetish for dark and dreary dog walking footage). You’ve been warned!

The video below is a compilation mostly made automatically by the “My Edits” feature of the GoPro Quick app. I need to curate my future edits and might experiment with using other apps (I see you CapCut), but I was impressed at how good this was for nearly zero effort. I’m just scratching the surface.

These are my usual walking and running spots, including the waterfall

I had a vague suspicion that it would be fun to have an action cam like the GoPro for hiking and adventures with the kids, and I was right. This thing is amazing (I have the Hero 10 Black). It’s waterproof, super rugged, and easy to use; the software seems solid, and I can control the camera via voice commands. Maybe all these things have been standard for years on these things, and I’m just new to the game, but man, it is cool.

Sam picked the glitch theme for this one. Maybe a bit much 🤷🏼‍♂️

I wish I got one sooner, and I can’t wait to try it out on an upcoming hike.
