I love discovering new music and hope that sharing my finds inspires you to listen to something different. Here are my favorite albums from March in no particular order.

Talib Kweli and Madlib – Liberation 2

I was a little underwhelmed with the last Black Star album on Luminary but this one is the opposite. Love it.

Algiers – Shook

Rock and punk and hip-hop all mixed together. Reminds me of Game Rebellion. Fierce.

The Blaze – Jungle

Soaring electronic beats. Perfect afternoon soundtrack.

M83 – Fantasy

Soaring atmospheric rock. Perfect morning soundtrack.

Navy Blue – Ways of Knowing

Introspective hip-hop with a lush backdrop. I’ve been drawn into this one.

De La Soul – Buhloone Mindstate

Of course, now that De La Soul is on streaming services, I couldn’t forget them this month. I didn’t listen to this album as much as I should have when it came out. Now I’m catching up.

Also worth checking out are new releases from Ali Farka Touré, 100 gecs, JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown, and 9th Wonder. I just ran out of time to add them properly above.

As always, let me know if any of this grabs you and definitely let me know what I might have missed.

Happy listening. ✌️
