What factors contribute to your best days?

There are many days that feel easy and you feel like you are flowing through work and really adding value. But in order to have those days, you have to also have the days where you struggle to push things forward and problems seem to keep arising. Good is relative.

The best days are not when I see my struggles finally come to fruition, when the damn finally breaks and I solve that nagging bug/issue. Those are easy days. The feeling is nice, but it goes away. The best days are when I struggle with something challenging, make a little progress, and am able to hold the perspective that just because I didn’t finish the thing or solve the puzzle the day wasn’t “good”.

Exercise, eating well, kissing my wife and kids, playing with our dog…those are my contributing factors to making any day the best.
