Dough nuts go nuts!

dogh nuts go nuts wide no

Vivian and I were playing with my Wacom to create some art today and we also ventured into the AI art world with, how should I put it…mixed results?

The promise (and examples) of AI-generated art are pretty crazy. We used the (new) Amazing AI app for MacOS which uses Stable Diffusion to generate images based on text. It looks and feels like magic, and it is, but the experience of creating our “handmade” poster using Affinity Designer was much more rewarding.

The AI created art was sometimes cool but mostly just creepy. Maybe there is more skill required to using text in the right way? Maybe I’m just old and don’t get it? We were definitely entertained and interested, so I guess that’s a win.

Here are the results from Amazing AI with the prompts we used in quotes:

“photo of a spotty fluffy white warrior cat jumping over a log in a lush forest midday”

Super scary! Not a good start…

“drawing of a brown tabby with green eyes standing on a mountain top at sunset”

“drawing of a cute white with black splotches cat running on a hillside at sunset”

Of course, Sam came in at the end and needed to try his hand at a prompt. Here is what we came up with:

“photo of a taekwondo black belt with dynamite in his hair doing a spinning kick over a volcano with a huge snake flying in the air behind him”

Combining images like this, even though they are pretty much junk, would be pretty time consuming for me, at least with my current skillset, so I appreciate the tech for that at least. It’s going to get WAY better tomorrow, which is terrifying.

Overall, I’m just happy Vivi and I got to collaborate on the donut. I showed her how and she executed, er…went NUTS!

🙇🏼‍♂️ HT to my collegue Nikola for the Amazing AI recommendation
