Natural Magic, WAAN, İlhan Erşahin, and more of my favorite albums from February 2026

It’s the end of February and I’m so glad that spring is coming as I’m totally sick of this winter weather and ready for some sun! The new album damn definitely felt like it broke towards the end of the month though, so that is going to make this update all the more interesting. Here are my faves from February aka the month the Seahawks became world champs again (yup, still on that high)!

Natural Magic – II

The description of this album from the band is “a west coast road trip soundtrack for the fading summer.” and this is squarely the winter months, but it’s great no matter what time of year.

WAAN – We Want WAAN

Super cool album by a “two-man hi-tech jazz outfit” that “merges jazz tradition with futuristic vision.”

İlhan Erşahin – Istanbul Sessions: Mahalle

How have I never heard of İlhan Erşahin!? I joined Bandcamp’s Jazz-ish Jazz club and so far it’s pointed me to some great stuff.

Twen – Fate Euphoric

This came out last year but I just discovered it via KEXP in 2026. It has become one of my most played albums. So catchy. Reminds me of what’s special about great indie rock bands.

Russian Blue – A Modern Analogue

This rocks out in the same vein as LCD Soundsystem and TV on the Radio.

The Messthetics & James Brandon Lewis – Deface The Currency

This album rips even harder than their first.

Neon Ion – Laugh Now, Cry Later

New artist and I really like their music. Reminds me of Little Dragon but more jazzy.

The Olympians – In Search of a Revival

Cool retro soul instrumental music.
